1. PEACE ON EARTH

This is an interesting painting, which reflects this current time on planet earth. There is no peace. I have a Buddhist priest releasing a peace dove, which is being attacked by an angry eagle. Hari Krishna are playing the drums for peace, an old couple say goodbye to each other, as a helicopter attacks the ground.

Subject – Here we have Buddha breathing through a mask, as COVID is floating around him. The animals around Buddha are Australian wild life.

This is a story about a woman called Karen, who went through her pregnancy on Instagram. The child is delivered by a mid wife on Instagram. Karen becomes a star on Instagram. Later Karen has a face lift on Instagram, she recovers from her face lift on Instagram. This gives Karen more fame and she becomes an influencer on Instagram. Each frame of this narrative is set within a frame of the apple phone.

Subject – This imagery is to emphasise the fact that we are losing insects, due to pesticides and car wind screens. Our planet could get wiped out without our insects.

3. Night sweeper – $ 550-
This painting is about humans and their habits of littering every where they go. A street sweeper is sweeping the floor of a forest which is littered with debris and litter. The forest bunny is requesting humans not to litter.

4. Imprisoned by nature $550
The two humans are imprisoned by the natural world. This is to emphasize the demise of the human population and the take over of this planet by nature. The very few who are left behind are imprisoned by nature.

Rhi Johnson Abandoned #17, 2024, relief print ~ linocut, 10 x 15 cm

This post effectively showcases the artwork by Rhi Johnson. Johnson’s abandoned buildings would resonate with many Queenslanders. The theme of what has been ignored or not preserved may generate inspiration for many artists.

We hope this provides more context for the audience. Focus on the artist’s strong black and white image with broken glass might also enhance the viewer’s understanding and appreciation of this work.
